Planning for a third phase of growth at Saint Francis Hospital began almost immediately, with expansion projects scheduled to be completed by the mid-1970s, according to hospital officials.

Several new services were introduced at Saint Francis Hospital throughout the year 1979.

In 1979, a skilled nursing facility and a fetal maternal medicine unit were also added to the institution’s offerings.

When entering the premises, all visitors are required to comply with the screening and mask requirements. Saint Francis HospitalMedical Center, situated on Woodland Street in Hartford, Connecticut, is a 617-bed acute care hospital with a primary focus on cardiac treatment. History

Since 1990, Saint Francis has had a relationship with Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. Historically, this was the first documented case of partnership between a Catholic hospital and a Jewish hospital in the United States of America. In 1995, the two organizations completed the formalization of their corporate merger. The hospital also retains ties with Saint Mary’s Hospital, Waterbury, which is an independent licensed facility. Saint Francis Medical Facility, a regional referral center, with substantial clinical concentrations in cardiology, cancer, orthopedics, women’s services, and rehabilitation, among other specialties.
