Men’s Basketball

Basketball, Mount St. Mary’s Mountaineers, is the primary focus of this essay. The Mount won the 1962 NCAA Men’s Division II Basketball Tournament by defeating the Sacramento State Hornets 58–57, and they won their first NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament by defeating the Coppin State Eagles in 2008. The Mount also won the 2008 NCAA Men’s Division I Basketball Tournament by defeating the Coppin State Eagles.

Men’s Soccer

Main article: The Mount St. Mary’s Mountaineers’ men’s soccer program From 1953 through 2012, the Mount sponsored men’s soccer, which competed in the National Elite Conference (NEC) from 1988 to 2012.
