Mount Saint Mary’s University

Mount Saint Mary’s University (formerly known as Mount St. Mary’s Institution until January 2015) is a private, autonomous, Catholic liberal arts college in Los Angeles, California, United States, that is predominantly attended by women. The Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet founded the institution in 1925, and it now has two sites that are little over 16 miles (26 kilometers) apart: the main campus in Carondelet and the satellite campus in Carondelet.

  • Chalon is located in Brentwood, while Doheny is located in North University Park, close to Downtown Los Angeles.

Sixty percent of the incoming freshmen cohort are first-generation college students, according to the College Board. The articulation agreements/transfer guidelines provided below can be used by prospective students who are interested in transferring courses to Mount Saint Mary’s University. Transferology is another resource for prospective students to determine whether the course(s) they have taken at other schools are transferable to Mount Saint Mary’s University.

The Agreement is Divided Into Three Sections:

In Section I, you can find pertinent information concerning LACE (Liberal Arts Core Education) (MSMU General Education Requirements). LACE criteria specified in this agreement include Written Communication, Reasoning, and Documentation. Math Critical Thinking, Language, and the Central Core: the Founders’ Spirit, Community, and Global Awareness are all important components of the program. Understanding, as well as Women’s Gender. Section II – Contains a listing of lower division courses in all of the Mount’s majors, with the exception of Liberal Studies, which is not included.

In Section III, the Education Department has selected lower division courses within the Liberal Studies major for articulation with the Education Department.

It is recommended that students who are interested in a Liberal Studies major do not read Section II. Students enrolled in the BSN Program at MSMU are expected to attend the requisite nutrition course.

The campus, despite its tiny size, was lovely and serene.

Although the basic courses appeared to be worthless at times, they did have an impact on the way I approached different situations.

The teachers all had their own peculiarities, but they were always eager to assist you and genuinely cared about your success.

When it comes to dealing with certain delicate problems on campus, I believe that the university has a long way to go.

This has the potential to create a rift between the two campuses. My recommendation is to establish a core circle of friends while being cordial with everyone else. This is what will contribute to the overall quality of your experience.

Mount St. Mary’s University doubles its NCAA basketball fun with both teams dancing

EMMITSBURG, Germany – With a student body of fewer than 2,000 students, Mount St. Mary’s University is located right along U.S. 15, the primary highway that goes through this little, rural town in Frederick County. Mount St. Mary’s is an accredited, true basketball school, despite the fact that it is a small, rural community. Its men’s and women’s basketball teams have added another milestone to the school’s illustrious basketball history by winning the Northeast Conference championships and earning berths in their respective NCAA tournaments, a feat previously accomplished in 1995.

Mount Saint Mary’s University – Associate in Arts Degree Major in Nursing (ADN)

Because the Associate’s Degree in Nursing satisfies the requirements for and has been recognized by the California Board of Registered Nursing, students can obtain their California RN licensure after completing the program. Mount Saint Mary’s University is currently investigating program professional licensing criteria in various states as part of its accreditation process. ADN ObjectivesUpon completion of the program, the student will have completed the following objectives: Provider of Medical Services

  • Identification, assessment and definition of the elements that influence a person’s or family’s adaptive level, adaptive response, and consequent location on the health-illness continuum
  • To determine the person’s or family’s adaptive level and reaction, and to analyze and confirm that level and response
  • Patient/client objectives should be defined in consultation with the patient, the nursing staff, and other disciplines, based on a clear analysis and synthesis of data
  • Define and carry out the nursing actions that have an impact on the patient/objectives
  • Client’s Identify and evaluate the effects of nursing interventions in terms of the person’s/behavioral family’s change and attainment of both patient/client and nursing objectives, and make adjustments to nursing interventions if expected adaptive outcomes are not attained.

A student may only repeat a course that is necessary for the nursing major a maximum of twice in total. Failure to pass any two compulsory scientific or pre-requisite courses with a grade of C- or below results in non-admission. A student may take the nursing entrance test no more than once in his or her lifetime. It is not possible to get admitted if you do not match the requisite threshold.

The first year of nursing program may be offered to candidates who have completed 30 units of general studies prerequisites (with the exception of RST 41) prior to being accepted into the program. In order to be considered for admission to the ADN program, LVNs who have met the entry standards for the program must advise Admissions and Advisement of their plan to pursue the Mobility Option prior to being accepted into the program. LVNs that participate in the Mobility Option are granted 10 units of nursing course credit (NUR 23series,NUR 24series, andNUR 30).

  • LVNs who complete the university’s entry standards can pursue a certificate program instead of a degree.
  • Mount Saint Mary’s University does not grant the student a diploma or a bachelor’s degree.
  • It is possible to receive transfer credit for prior nursing courses that are similar to the Nursing Department courses for candidates who have previously obtained their Registered Nursing licenses.

Over the course of the curriculum, a dose calculations test will be administered on a regular basis.

Upon failing the second time, the student must withdraw from all theoretical, skills lab, and clinical courses for the remainder of the course period in question.

Students may be dismissed from the program if they do not pass the math competence test in a subsequent course with a perfect score of 100 percent.
