A Pre-school program has been designed for children who are three or four years old. The four-year-olds meet three times a week and the three-year-olds meet twice a week.
A curriculum for four-year-olds is geared toward learning readiness skills and information to prepare them for Kindergarten. These skills help them develop small motor skills. The students work on letter recognition, size discrimination, patterning and developing their imagination through arts and crafts. They participate in music, Spanish and computer class as well as gym to develop gross motor skills.
The three-year-old program is theme based. Each month there is a different theme, such as colors, shapes, safety, family, etc. They begin to develop fine motor skills and letter/number identification. They express their creativity through weekly art projects. They participate in music and Spanish classes weekly. There is a balance between play and cognitive skills. The children learn a variety of social skills through their play such as sharing and role-playing.
