St. Margaret of Scotland School's strong Mathematics program produces proficient problem solvers who value the important role mathematics has and will have in their lives. Teachers in all grade levels collaborate and cooperate with each other to ensure students successfully progress from one level to the next, thus ensuring a continuum of mathematical mastery of basic math facts and concepts.

All students will build on the success they achieve in mathematics; become confident mathematical problem solvers; use mathematics to solve real-life problems; discover the relevance of applied mathematics to all areas of the curriculum; communicate mathematically. Students are introduced to Pre-Algebra and Algebra concepts in preparation for high school.
The 7th and 8th grade curriculum strongly emphasizes computation, problem solving and application, estimation, and number theory. Small group activities and spiral learning are methods that are utilized in the reinforcement of daily lessons. After school math tutoring and study-buddy programs are offered to meet the needs of students at different levels of progress.
