The Art program combines a mix of the fine arts, crafts, and art history/art appreciation. Primary grades emphasis is placed on the basic skills of coloring correctly, cutting and pasting, as well as simple assembly and following directions. Use of imagination is strongly encouraged in the primary grades. Simple concepts such as color theory, texture, composition and elements of design are introduced. The children learn relevant vocabulary words and become familiar with the lives of well-known artists and their work.

Intermediate grades learn more complex concepts related to composition, drawing techniques, elements and principles of design as well as crafts. Middle School students experience a wide range of projects in both the fine arts and crafts.
